I accepted a friend request on Facebook from someone about 4 months ago that I went to high school with...almost 10 years ago.

Every day, even every hour I get posts that are like "OMG Praise the Lord for no traffic." "Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross and shedding blood so I can have this day in the park today."

I know, I know....just defriend them. Problem is...will I go to hell for this?

or if the updates annoy you, you could just choose to hide her updates so you don't have to see them anymore?

the funny thing is that many people actually think everyone cares about their personal beliefs/opinions/practices.

I'm so happy I don't have idiots friends that try to preach to me via social media sites, or at all, really.

whenever I see those (not nearly as often as you do, apparently) there's always a fucking TON of likes from their other mega-religious friends... which just gives them more of that false sense of people actually caring.

I'm sick of the girls that update their status every day about how soon their wedding is, and that they're "only single" for a few more days.

Or the girls that post constantly about their damn kids. Spare me.

They need to come out with FamilyBook or some shit.

(yes I hide those people's posts)

Problem solved.

They're trying to show how faithful they are by publicly praising god so they can do all that stupid/immoral/illegal shit they do everynight without feeling guilty.

Start updating your status with shit in Arabic and references to Allah, the All-Knowing, All-Merciful, etc.

I update my status in arabic just to fuck with the super-theists sometimes. It's usually inane stuff like "I have my book, but I do not have my pencil" because that's all I know how to say.

I had no one idea one of my fb friends was all religious until she posted a longass note explaining why sarah palin was a good VP choice and a staunch defender of "everything Christian"

I told her she should know better. She never responded

it took about 60 seconds and was more than funny enough to justify that

also, "Jesus Christ" sent a message to the Adolf Hitler account saying "Thanks for getting 'em back"

I don't understand why it's so awful for y'all to read a short status update from a friend that has to do with Christianity. I mean I totally understand that might not be you're belief, but dang, can't you just be accepting of the fact that to someone else it's a big part of their life. There are several things that my friends post on facebook that I may roll my eyes at, but I would never defriend them for having a different set of beliefs than me and posting about it.
Unless of course by them posting about it and me reading it could somehow get me in trouble...but honestly I doubt that will happen.

Like I understand this whole "Oh I'm intelligent and Christians are ignorant" argument that so many people like to use these days, but seriously, lets start worrying about ourselves first.

If reading people's updates on facebook affect you THAT much then maybe you should take a break from it.

yeah I did, I mean are they really that bothering to you? Do you dread logging on to facebook because you don't wanna read those updates? Do you have to force yourself to click log in? Do you have to pump yourself up in the mirror everytime the thought of facebook crosses your mind because you know there are going to be status updates that say "Praise Jesus"?

If you don't like it, maybe they aren't really your friend anymore? It's okay to not like someone's religion or frequency of religious statements.
Defriend at will. Hell, I defriend ppl for having those damn quizzes every 30 min. Shit's annoying.

i defriend people for any number of reasons.

frequent religious updates is honestly a perfectly fine reason for defriending someone.

I think it's more about the frequency than the content.

Surely you can see how someone posting status updates "every day, even every hour" could be considered lame. Especially if all those updates were about something you thought was silly.

Panthro wasn't condemning Christianity, so you can stop trying to defend it.

^^ yea its more about frequency.

i have a friend that does political updates like 2384972384 times a day and it doesn't matter if i agree or disagree, i just get sick of reading that person's updates.

i was friends with a guy from high school who was constantly sending me invites to go to all these different church rallies and church things. i kept politely declining but he was sending about 2-3 a day so i ended up unfriending him.

I got this one retard friend who has posted like 20 times about installing Windows 7...and basically just has really douchey wall posts about stupid shit like looking for dates with midgets on craigslist. It makes me want to punch the shit out of him. I don't know why I haven't hid his updates yet, other than the fact that he makes me feel better about myself.

I think he has some friends from TWW, and in fact he might even be on TWW himself.
