Would anyone be interested in a smallish very low cost LAN party soon? I've got a large apartment to myself and need to make use of it.
I'm thinking low entry cost, swagish prizes (shirts, stickers, etc) with some possible larger prizes or possibly cash for tourny winners.
Food and drink sold for cheap (hot dogs, chips, soda, etc. possibly beer).
Would anyone show up? hah 5/9/2009 6:24:07 PM |

if it's just going to be at your apartment, why not have it mostly friends, no cost/no prizes, BYOB, etc 5/9/2009 6:28:14 PM |

It would be mostly friends, but it's sort of an extension of a LAN me and a friend used to run. http://www.laglesslan.com sort of connected to http://www.carolinagamessummit.com
The only cost would be to cover any food/beverages, and to use for cleanup/prize stuff.
I'm only asking because I personally prefer small scale BYOC LANs to places like GameFrog. And I've noticed a sharp decline/complete lack of such LANs in recent years. 5/9/2009 6:31:02 PM |

Whatever is wanted. UT, CS 1.6 or Source, TFC, Q3A, BF2, Halo, WC3, SC, etc. Whatever people want to play. We'd take a vote on what tournies people wanted beforehand. In the past it's been a lot of CS 1.6 and Starcraft. Possibly a L4D survival mode tourney...

Multiplayer Gaming Club normally hosts one at my place (least we did last year). I normally have one official and one unofficial over the summer. Considering I control both CS servers for the club as well right now, we just plug everyone in my network and have no lag
Im in WV so we have good internet access as well for the WOW players etc. Plus lots of other games. 5/18/2009 9:14:01 AM |
