its actually interesting..

i have run every version of the beta os 3.0 since it was released...not ever having problems like this.

this has never been a noted issue with past betas...only reason its an issue now, is because they took out the ability to change carrier settings so people cant MMS anymore.
i called apple and they couldnt help me fix the problem...and I also couldnt downgrade to a previous beta..

fortunately..i found a att carrier update file online...after updating this on my phone, 3g data works again perfectly...and i can enable MMS and tethering..

but there would be no mention of it from ATT if it were a nonexistant problem.

i actually read about the potential of losing 3g data service but i figured it woudlnt have happened if i had not run into problems with the previous betas.

anyways...i got the new beta 5 installed..and since i kept the older build of itunes 8.2 on my computer..i was able to change the carrier att .ipcc file.
this brought back the tethering and MMS stuff...and i am happily tethered to my mac via bluetooth.
usb tethering couldnt get any easier with a mac or pc too..
beta 5 runs pretty good...paypal app doesnt work, and Noise.io doesnt have sound output.
only things i have noticed.

supposedly the youtube app now loads higher quality versions of the videos for people using 3g connection. the same video they send to the people using wifi.

This is reported...but it isnt the case at least on my iphone.

anyone else notice increased quality in the video from youtube with 3g?

For a developer..you couldn't even detect the issues with past betas. What makes you think you're a more valuable developer than the hundereds of losers making fart apps?
AT&T even provisioned our accounts for mms use. That's right. For non-developers, we get treated quite well!!

The temporary dev account we are (were) using is under my friends name. As you know it's faster to get a personal dev account setup so in doing that he was responsible for entering udid. When I got my phone he was out of town. Another person pit me under their account until the next day when my friend could add me to his.
Bottom line. We actually have apps to show instead of "look at what I can do with os 3.0".

Bottom line. Even if this is true (which I have my doubts, but whatever) you still weren't a developer (or even an iphone OWNER) less than a month ago. You've never mentioned developing anything, nor have you mentioned anything about the development tools. All outward indications are that you're just a tourist trying out 3.0 before everyone else is just to say you can. Which is fine either way. But I don't know why you jumped down evan's throat for assuming that you weren't a developer when you haven't even so much as hinted otherwise.

Also, I'm still wondering why you didn't think this could have gone in the actual iPhone thread.

also, the fact that apple almost immediately provisioned our enterprise dev account once they realized who we were speaks volumes to how important they think we are, i believe.

i can't think of a development-related reason to have MMS provisioned.
also, anyone can do this if you know who to talk to (and what to say) at AT&T.

IM A GLASSBLOWER. but for a glassblower...i have been able to assemble a 3 person team and we have already come up with 3 apps..like i said, 2 of which are already available in the app store.
None of us except our newest member had an iphone when we started the company. BUT we have all had ipod touches since they came out...recently upgrading to second generations..
i just started posting in the iphone thread when i actually began to look into getting one for personal use.
nothing i have said on here has been false...and i never said i thought you werent a developer(my statement was an impersonation of you..fucking idiot).
There are thousands of developers out there...spending 100 bucks doesnt make you special. As i already asked...do you have any apps available in the app store?
Considering this is nowhere near my line of real life work...i am proud of my accomplishments regarding apps for the ipod touch and iphone.

i really have no desire for you to like me, or care to help me (which im not sure where you got that from, you have not offered to help me at all..and the one time i asked about the UDID you were of no help as expected).

just because i started posting in tech talk recently doesnt mean much...if you notice, i havent even posted on tww in years...just jumped online when i was looking up info on the iphone..
