best places to look online? that show actual (non-aerial) photos of houses? i'd prefer a "house" as opposed to a townhome. go! preferably Cary/Holly Springs/West Raleigh/ Morrisville.

shit, I used to know a good site when I lived there but I forgot what it was...

but 99.9% of the sites out there have photos like you are wanting...

this might help for craigslist posted houses: http://www.housingmaps.com/

If you're serious, I suggest finding a realtor and speaking with them. They can run constant searches for your criteria on the MLS system. Also, don't let them pressure you into signing any contracts that tie them to you. A good realtor won't even bring that up.

you can do it without a realtor, just need a good lawyer, and I got one you can use there... All I ever used a realtor for was to physcially unlock the door for me when visiting the homes. I was very very picky, spent about 3 years looking.

why not a townhome or condo in downtown Raleigh?

any MLS search

ysuhomes.com

if you dont even know what you are doing with that, I suggest you get a realtor.

they are worth the small % they take especially since u seem like you are clueless.

Ride through the seabrook/greenwood/vickie (drive, avenue, street, whatever, those are road names) areas of Cary. That's sort of a big lumped together neighborhood area which has a lot of decent homes which would make nice starter homes, and they're in established neighborhoods. Usually built around 70's-80's. It's a neighborhood area that's close to US1/64 and a lot of shopping and there's a lot of houses there that are worth flipping/improving if you're interested in doing that.
