i thought a vertical was only the height you could get your feet above the ground extended, not how high you can jump and raise your feet.

Your feet don't matter at all.

They measure it by that doohicker that you hit with your hand when you jump up:



ninja: It's called a vertec. Or tape on a wall or whatever. It's never a feet-based measurement.



ETA: So Wilson's thing there wasn't really a vertical, but more like a standing high jump or something. Either way, it's impressive.

How high you can jump != the tallest thing you can jump over

It depends on the point of reference/what you're measuring.

Which is why the initial post stated "drop step vertical."

And I didn't post this in sports talk because everyone and everything is included in this list. Which is also why i didn't give a shit about posting a link.
