Did a search and ctrl+F, couldn't find Angels
Saw it tonight, it was really good. I read the book awhile back but there were so many twists and turns I couldn't remember everything, so it was very fresh and well done. 5/15/2009 10:17:01 PM |

The novel Da Vinci Code was shit, no reason why the movie was going to be any different.
Angels and Demons actually has some good stuff in it, so I'm hoping the movie does too. 5/16/2009 1:50:19 AM |

I read Angels and Demons before Da Vinci, and it was a far superior book. This movie as similarly far superior to Da Vinci code. Seeing all the architecture of the Vatican (real or not) was really cool 5/16/2009 1:52:00 AM |

wasn't real. Ron Howard couldn't get permission to do anything in The Vatican. It was filmed in Hollywood 5/16/2009 9:37:03 AM |

Always thought that Angels and Demons was a better book, but the Da Vinci Code was so controvertial it grabbed all the attention. 5/16/2009 10:59:42 AM |

This movie is like the rich man's version of National Treasure.
Or is it the other way around? 5/16/2009 1:15:50 PM |

If I hadn't read the book, this movie would've been way better. I finished rereading the book yesterday and it was ridiculous the amt of stuff they changed. I feel like they left out/changed a lot of important stuff. 5/16/2009 7:22:40 PM |

^^ i'd agree with the order you have the DB books there.
i kind of want to see this movie because i liked the story. i just can't see it being any worse than the Da Vinci Code movie. jesus. if i hadn't read the book i don't think i could have followed that vague ass, boring script. sucks nothing was filmed in the Vatican City, if that is indeed the case. that would be a pretty neat location. 5/17/2009 1:37:51 AM |

I read all 4. The DaVinci Code and Angles and Demons were good - they were nice, fun, quick reads.
The other two were not so great, and one of them completely sucked. I forgot which one, now, between Digital Fortress and Deception Point. I think it was Digital Fortress that was awful - there was a lot of pseudo-tech bullshit in it that was horrible and from what I remember of the plot, it was just no good. So, yeah - skip that one.5/17/2009 11:04:03 AM |

saw it tonight. pretty fun.
I don't remember if they did in the book, but I'm glad they didn't try to develop a relationship between Langdon and the girl. For the action and time period the movie covered, it would have been really forced.
THought it was funny, though, that the first scene literally sent shivers through me, as they zoomed through the LHC and showed the particle collisions, then the last scene, as they were naming the new pope, had me rolling my eyes. 5/17/2009 10:32:14 PM |

From what I can remember, (chronologically) Angels and Demons takes place prior to the DaVinci Code... am I right? Because early in the movie, they make a statement that confused the heck out of me. It was something along the lines of how Langdon's past "incident" didn't sit well with Vatican officials. Did they just add this to smooth over the fact that they made the DaVinci Code movie first? I overhead some ladies talking about it, and the more I heard, the more confused I became...
For some reason, I enjoyed Deception Point better than the rest. I absolutely hated, HATED Digital Fortress. It wasn't edited well at all. Bad grammar, no punctuation, missing caps at the beginning of sentences, etc. is one thing on a message board. In a novel though, it makes it difficult for me to read. I got hung up so often when a large run on sentence would carry three different thoughts. I would have to pause and decipher what I just read instead of continuing to the next sentence. Aggravated the crap out of me!!!
Angels is a better book than DaVinci, and the movie is also much better than DaVinci. Dan Brown is a smart, smart man. Pick controversial topics that will raise eyebrows and start discussions, all while raking in the cash from people buying the books so they can talk about the topics. Smart, smart, smart 5/27/2009 5:12:25 AM |
