What actors help make a movie a must-see or a must-avoid for you? I suppose we could expand it to directors, producers etc too.

Keanu Reeves is the only actor I can think of that strongly dissuades me from seeing a movie.

The overwhelming majority of Will Smith's movies have been fantastic: 6 Degrees of Separation, Independence Day, I am Legend, Enemy of the State, Pursuit of Happiness, Men in Black (the first one anyway, the second sucked)

Nicholas Cage- must avoid for me. I broke this with Lord of War and have regretted it. Matchstick Men is the only movie I've seen of his that I like.

tom cruise is a must stay the fuck away if made after 1999 (except Tropic Thunder...he was hilarious)

He was garbage in Minority Report, Collin Ferrell should have played the lead.

As I said above he was hilarious in Tropic Thunder, but that is not a "Tom Cruise movie" (I didn't even know he was in it until seeing it)

Yes, Collateral was garbage.

More Tom Cruise garbage from this decade:
Vanilla Sky
MI: 2 & 3
War of the Worlds

I loved The Last Samurai overall as a movie but I think it would have been better with someone different playing the lead.

Well yeah. But he seems to be at a point where they're becoming more frequent. To me anyways.

Tom Cruise remains one of my favorite actors. I could not care less about his extra-curricular stuff.

so in conclusion, you like a few Tom Cruise movies from this decade, but he is an "absolute must stay the fuck away from" or whatever... Just go make an "Actors that you have a vendetta against" thread.

i think we need to clarify if you mean all movies that this actor stars in or just all movies that the actor is in at all.

I tend to dislike a lot of movies starring Will Farrell (Taladega Nights), but I do like a lot where he is in supporting roles. (Wedding Crashers)

well, I can't think of any actor that I have loved every single last movie they have put out. And I do agree this latest string hasn't been that strong. But I own more movies from him than any other actor so he deserved to be on my list I thought.
