Who gets the Pepsi Center on May 25th?

Now before all of the fuck the WWE starts, a contract is a contract and the while the agreement was made back in august of 2008, the contract was signed the last day of the NBA reg season. Vince is dogging the hell out of the owner of the nuggets for allowing this to happen. And Vince McMahon seems like the type that would exhaust his resources trying to revenge getting fucked over. He said he is sending his trucks and crew as scheduled for monday night raw....

I read about this the other day. Pretty hilarious maybe they should just let the nba players fight it out to see who wins.

WWE should get it.

Also, I love how whenever the WWE has to interact with a mainstream entity, they always go out of their way to rile people up.

If the contract says they they have it, they have it.

Professional wrestling and its fans are all trash, however.

ooooooooooooh big money!!!1 they couldnt hope to match that from playoff ticket sales!

i dunno what jobs vince mcmahon has held, but david stern and the whole nba front office are a bunch of lawyers...contract or not, i don't see them pushing back a playoff game in a real sport for some fucking roid soap opera shit, but we'll see who has the best lawyers

I don't think it has anything to do with the NBA, it's between McMahon and Kroenke Sports.

Kroenke owns the Nuggets AND the Pepsi Center, Avs, St. Louis Rams, and the Arsenal, plus the Altitude network and his wife is a Walmart heir. I don't think they'll have a problem dropping a couple million to McMahon...

Jerry McDevitt for the WWE is an excellent, excellent lawyer.

But yes, this is between Kroenke and McMahon -- everything I've read said the NBA isn't going to get involved.

Vince McMahon's lawyers have negotiated him out of responsibility for killing Owen Hart, responsibility for the general physical well-being of any of his employees, and killing/devouring every major wrestling promotion in the history of America. I doubt a second-tier NBA organization has what it takes to knock him off his legal high horse.

Holy shit, I didn't watch the video until just now...making Coach handle this story is straight out of the VKM playbook.

i can totally see an angle where the players and wrestlers both show up and get in a "fight," or kroenke and mcmahon have a grudgematch at summerslam

I came in here only to post that Kroenke has walmart money and vince is going to be lucky if he can set up his cage 10 blocks down in a parking lot somewhere, but I see it's already been said.

They'll probably just have the show in Colorado Springs because that's where they're taping Smackdown/ECW/Superstars the next day, but that doesn't mean Vince won't squeeze a bunch of money out of Kroenke just for fun.

Also, LOL at Vince saying "World Wrestling Federation."

I'm sure the NBA has legal verbiage in their contracts with each team that assure arena availability for playoff games, and I'm sure those were legally binding well before the August 08 WWE contract.

April 2010...The Bobcats schedule the Jumper Classic and it conflicts with their first home playoff game in History

Torn between his daughter's hobby and his team he paid 300 million for, Bob Johnson sides with the Jumper Classic, relegating the Bobcats to Bojangles Coliseum

You are making it sound like Vince McMahon is some dumb hack with crap lawyers. With the shit he's been through I'm going to guess he has pretty damn good lawyers himself... He has managed to take something totally fake, market it into a massive industry, and it generally does great with tv ratings etc. Like him or hate him, it is pretty impressive.

Stern on the other hand has a real product he often has to spend this time of year defending that it isn't fake and fixed.

They'll move for the NBA, but McMahon will get $$$ and publicity out of it. Can't ask for much more then that.

So, knowing that, Kroenke drew up a contract he wasn't sure he could deliver on. Vince wins again.

If you consider winning as not being able to hold his wrestling show on the night he scheduled it at the venue where he scheduled it, then yeah I guess he wins.

I think Kroenke and his team thought the odds were pretty slim that the dates would coincide...

50% chance they actually make the Western Conference Finals (realistically)
50% chance they schedule a game on that night
50% chance that game is a home game

Means there was a maximum 12.5% chance that the two events would coincide. Given the Nuggets past playoff performance, Kroenke probably thought the probability was 5% - low enough to risk this....

He should have disclosed this possibility in the contract and I'd be really surprised if he didn't.

he is going to win b/c he either get the arena for that night or he will hold the event down the road and get paid DOUBLE or TRIPLE b/c of the breach of contract.....

I don't care if it's the NBA, NFL, NASA, NATO, the UN or XMEN.....a contract is a contract is a contract. The WWE has a contract to hold an event on that evening. Vince is salivating right now to throw as big as a wrench as he can into this situation esp if he can show that he is powerful enough to interrupt something as big as the NBA playoffs. He's not going to make the situation easy to resolve b/c IMO he really doesn't have to.

He won't be interrupting anything in Denver or with the NBA , sorry. He'll sue for 3 million and win. That is like .0008 of what Kroenke is worth alone.

Or about what he'll make off of having the Nuggets in the arena for Game 4 rather than the WWE, hahahahaha.

The Checkers had to move their ECHL home playoff games to the Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail this year because of the Jumper Classic. But, if I remember correctly, the Bobcats did have to play their last couple of games on the road because that was in town.

After watching Kobe last night, he might pass an audition with the WWE... that takedown on K-Mart would've been sick off the ropes. Plus, he bitches pretty well at the refs like the wrasslers do.

How do you figure.

Vince is going to get his booking fee they are coming back in August (and it will probably be a house show) He gets free publicity from all the new sites, and he is sticking it to the Kroenke group by having it in LA, and I bet the ratings will be higher for Raw.
