during the softball game at my department's "Summer Soiree". Unfortunately we still lost though.
The research department took on the research financing department. A few cute girls played, in fact I shared my glove with one. Unfortunately they were all on the other team except for one. Talked to one afterwards that went to ECU and for some reason was wearing a Delta Chi shirt.
I had a sick slide into 2nd to keep the inning alive and ended up scoring on the next batter's single. It got a cheer from some of my co-workers that were spectating.
I just wanted you all to know about my outstanding athletic performance in a non-serious company softball game. 5/20/2009 5:45:06 PM |

i had two outfield assists in softball last week. and drove in a run with a sac fly. unfortunately i struck out looking, but the ump just couldn't tell that it was like 23 inches off the plate. 5/20/2009 5:48:20 PM |

In Little League I came in relief in the top of the final inning and struck out the side with the bases loaded (we were down one). Then hit an inside the park home-run in the bottom of the inning to win the game (first round of playoffs).
Highlight of my little league career.
Don't have a highlight of my adult career yet. 5/20/2009 6:27:28 PM |

Haha... I was in my first year in the "Majors" in Little League at that age (I was young for my grade). Milford Giants! Our All-Star team got bombarded that year. Lost something like 9-0 and 8-1. The 9-0 game I was the only to get on base and it was a HBP... 5/21/2009 1:32:19 PM |

I was about that age pitching when I threw a high one that the catcher completely missed and it hit the ump square in the throat and he fell on the ground
I remember our coach ( who was my friends college-age brother) running out and doing the Heimlich on him till someone yelled out "He's not choking, dumbass" hahaha 5/21/2009 1:38:20 PM |

^^I was in Babe Ruth League when I was 14, we were losing 21-0 with 2 outs in the 5th (after which they would call mercy rule)...and the pitcher had a perfect game going against us. So I leaned into one and took it for the team. The next guy hits it straight to the right fielder but the guy drops it, and I scored from first to ruin the shutout. 5/21/2009 1:45:02 PM |

I'm a slow-pitch umpire around here and I was in Apex last week, and some dumbass high-school kid playing in an adult league refused to swing the bat. I think he swung once the entire night (whiffing of course), with 1 walk and 3 times he struck out looking. It was hilarious as I kept calling strikes on him and his dugout screaming at him to swing. The last time he struck out looking to end the game, with his team down by 1 and a runner on 2nd.
