Got the ASRock M3A790GXH and AMD x3 720

After booting with video card installed or not (on board video) I'm getting no video at all. Everything appears to power up but I'm just not getting any video response. Ideas?

Probably have, but I've got to ask...

Have you checked the integrated video setting in the BIOS?

can't get that far, keyboard lights won't even flash

thinking its the cpu or mobo... a mobo will make it to bios even with a dead processor though right? you'll see the splash screen? it's been a long time since i built one

by "new install" you mean new build or what? because it makes it sound like you just installed windows or something and now it's fucking up after you restarted..

any beeping?

start unhooking shit.. HD's, CDROMS, all but one stick of memory, etc and keep trying to get it to come up

Make sure you put spacers between the mobo and case, make sure there's no loose screws, make sure the all the power connectors are connected properly, make sure the CPU is seated properly.

new build.

unhooked everything, even the case led/switch indicators and let the power supply on switch turn it on and get nothing.

next is ram testing and completely unmounting the mobo

Make sure you plugin the main power to the board correctly. If you don't, sometimes the system won't turn on. Sometimes it will, but you'll experience what you have now, where nothing looks like it is working.
