be they state parks or private campgrounds or whatever...drive-up or backpack in doesn't matter

gf and i are wanting to camp saturday and sunday night and then spend two nights at the grove park in asheville

There's a sweet ass camping spot right north of the smoky mnts. I beleive the mountain, which is bald and has a great view of the smokys, is named max patch.

I'd say go for the smokys, but you need reservations n shit.

might be a little too far from asheville for yall...1-1.5 hrs maybe?

nah, 1-2 hours is cool...but 2 is max...the drive is so nice, a bit extra isn't really a bad thing

well then you can't go wrong imho with that camping spot...i'm certain that there are also forest service roads that run right close to the patch, but there are also hiking trails...

You probably arent allowed to camp on the bald, but id say youd be fine

Third weekend of june, camping with another couple.

I'm looking at Davidson River campground, by sliding rock and brevard. Is it gonna be awful and crowded?

I think mostly anything within an hour of asheville or 26 or 40 near asheville will work.
