the last time teh stats page even worked, traffic was like 1/3 of what it used to be when the site worked fairly consistently

the stats page, of course, hasn't worked in like a year now so it's hard to say, but I'm guessing traffic isn't on the up.

seems sort of like some prescribed database maintenance isn't occuring like it should.

or maybe some of the subforums traditionally ignored in pruning are growing to the point where it's necessary?

or maybe they downgraded the box to reduce costs -- perhaps the migration to a cheaper box was when pictures were lost, even -- and that's why the site performs like shit with a fraction of the load
