It's not a damn launch ramp, you do not need to hit it going 45, and yes I've seen sparks from both the leading and trailing edges of some cars that have gone over it. Just be glad I don't have quite enough free time to implement some form of triggered tire shredder that I could have fun with.

I actually did hit one of those going about 45 on Centennial Campus a few years back. It was at night and I think they had just put it up because I don't recall it being there prior and there definitely wasn't any signage or lighting.

I caught mad air and nearly shat my pants. It knocked my driver's side window out of the track, but that was enough to fix. Good fun, in retrospect.
