Know three of the kids. My job also deals with students in the area so I get a few details. Esoda was stupid but so were all the others involved - apparently all intoxicated and underage. One of them had even graduated already (why bother in the first place!?). A couple were involved in scouts and it is upsetting how well they represented their past/current troop . At least one (possibly two?) are volunteers at a local fire department. Surely they will lose their positions at the department.

Oh...the article says that medical personnel called 911 to tell them the driver ran. What EMS calls 911? My guess it was the volunteer firefighters making the call since they were involved in the accident.

And why the stupid boat in a parking lot? A boat would have been moved before the students showed up for class the next day. Dumb dumb...dumb.

J-Turns should only be attempted in a "Light" vehicle (ie: not a truck with dumbarses in the bed) where weight is distributed evenly.
Don't know how this kid thought he was gonna be able to pull a J-Turn.
