It's an entree because it's got meat and a lot of noodles. It's popular because it's great! I come from the Bay Area where there is a Pho house on every corner. In the Bay Area can go in for a quick bowl of noodle soup for $3.50. It's the perfect lunch. Here, it's $7 (wtf!) and there is only one real Pho house that I know of - Pho Cali on Capital, across the street from Sam Ashe.I know, Dalat has it, and it's good, but it's not a true Pho house. One day this backwater town will have a Hot Pot restaurant. At that point I will classify Raleigh as metropolitan.[Edited on June 3, 2009 at 5:37 PM. Reason : *~<]BO]

Pho 9N9 in RTP on Miami Blvd. is probably the best I have had around here. Also Lime and Basil in CH on Franklin St. is pretty damn good too, but expensive.

you guys don't know what a good bowl of Pho is even if it hits you in the face. Btw, there's no good Pho place in the triangle, so don't even bother talking them up.
