in a turkish wedding the husband-to-be's family buys a lot of gold jewlery (I mean A LOT) for the bride which then the bride and groom keeps after the weddingI was all like... pfft, that's just throwing money away... you're not going to get shit back for that (don't think too hard about american wedding's and receptions... we're talking about others here)....but apparently, the knowledge of secondary markets of gold for turks is a for real thing... the get real value back for their goldwhile we're like children, taking pennies on the dollar

Any website or local event/fair that is actively seeking people who will sell them their old gold jewelry is not going to pay you anything close to fair rates for your stuff. As was mentioned, try hitting up a jeweler or somebody else.
