I'm doing some side work for a family friend and he wants me to make some email lists for him. He's basically given me websites that have lots of emails on them (he's a local retailer) and he's asked me to compile them. Is there a program anyone knows of that searches an entire website or pdf and extracts all the emails into a document or excel sheet?

I've googled and everything i've found so far has either a virus, or you have to pay for. I figured i'd ask if anyone knows anything off the top of their head that you don't have to pay for.

About ten lines of Perl and your spam lists should be good to go.

I've got a database of 170,000 business non opt-ins if anyone's interested

But to answer your question, copy and paste is still free.

Write something to grab page, parse it for relative links and email addresses. Store the email addresses somewhere, then open the relative links and do the same thing. Ignore links you've already been to. When you cant find any new links you're done.

yeah yeah it sounds like a spam list. He owns a company that sells laundry equipment to big companies and schools and such.

Like a script to pull all the emails out of that pdf.

Yeah i realize this. I wrote the code in excel to search through rows and filter out anything surrounding "@". I guess i could just copy and paste everything into excel. I'm not a big coder though.
