One is in Baltimore and the other is Philadelphia.Which town is worse to live in?
6/11/2009 10:38:53 AM
both
6/11/2009 10:39:41 AM
depends on the part of town - they both suck
6/11/2009 10:40:28 AM
Philly is a shithole
6/11/2009 10:40:51 AM
thats like asking would you rather fuck ambrosia or KiwiPhilly...its the lesser of two evils
6/11/2009 10:40:52 AM
Your mom has two different job openings.
6/11/2009 10:41:21 AM
having just come from a trip to Philly, I can say that the entire city is dirty....It smells like a mixture of cig. butts and urine.
6/11/2009 10:42:18 AM
Careful, you're slipping back into good grammar.
6/11/2009 10:42:24 AM
i'll take the other one. please send information.
6/11/2009 10:43:34 AM
Openings? If you don't even know if you have either job I'd apply to both and see which one offers you a position...
6/11/2009 10:44:48 AM
I love Baltimore -- I was told it was a checkerboard city though
6/11/2009 10:44:49 AM
Your mom will offer you a position.
6/11/2009 10:45:59 AM
i, too, love Baltimoreits a fun city with a great night life ... and if you like cocaine, its readily available everywhere
6/11/2009 10:46:23 AM
6/11/2009 10:48:11 AM
I thought it meant there were a lot of cabs
6/11/2009 10:49:43 AM
IIRC checkerboard is not a racist term, it just means the blacks and whites are clearly separated by physical location and/or socioeconomic class within the cityI could be wrong, but I doubt it
6/11/2009 10:51:13 AM
I think it actually refers to how the streets are laid out.
6/11/2009 10:51:38 AM
I thought that too, especially since I doubt the population of Baltimore is 50% native American.
6/11/2009 10:51:46 AM
well fuck me then, Ernie, enlighten us
6/11/2009 10:53:50 AM
KING ME
6/11/2009 10:53:56 AM
6/11/2009 10:54:27 AM
Checkerboard state.... I think Slave is close with his description. Sorry Ernie, I know there are more squares than a normal checkerboard and some are actually rectangles and some have jagged sides.[Edited on June 11, 2009 at 10:58 AM. Reason : s]

A lot of cities are "checkerboard", it's like a grid of small neighborhoods each with their own character and social constitution. And you are right, but it's not always about race... My "square" is right next to a uber rich square, which borders an uber gay square, which borders a very poor square that you don't walk around in at night.[Edited on June 11, 2009 at 11:07 AM. 6/11/2009 11:05:16 AM
I wish porky would fucking tell us what she was talking about already.
6/11/2009 11:06:05 AM
IOWA IS FOR PEASANTS
6/11/2009 11:06:45 AM
There's still people sitting on their roofs waiting for Govt help there. But to answer the OP, I would choose Durham, great city.
6/11/2009 11:08:50 AM
do not move to philly
6/11/2009 11:08:55 AM
FroshKiller: Your mom has two three different job openings. And none of them are worth going with in 50 feet of. I went to Philly back in '02 or '03 and it wasn't too bad, but we stayed around the historical district.
6/11/2009 11:09:38 AM
i live in baltimore and love it. if you live in the right areas, then its really a great city. lots of stuff to do, lots of people in the young adult age range, and close proximity to a number of other big cities. plus, cost of living is relatively low compared to the surrounding areas.
6/11/2009 11:13:08 AM
both are fine.but you have to get the job first
6/11/2009 11:21:14 AM
6/11/2009 11:24:08 AM
bmore >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> philly all day

LOOKING AT TWO DIFFERENT JOB CLOSINGS, EH SON?
6/11/2009 12:29:53 PM
I agree with the theme of this thread so far. Baltimore is much better. Then inner harbor area is very nice. Not to mention the proximity to just about anything you could possibly want to do for fun.

6/11/2009 12:35:00 PM
6/11/2009 12:58:38 PM
so why did kossuth get double the land area of the other ones on the top two rows?
6/11/2009 1:00:09 PM
$
6/11/2009 1:01:11 PM
i wonder how many people in this thread have spent considerable time in either city. my guess is not many.
6/11/2009 5:06:55 PM
6/11/2009 5:10:56 PM
As a gun owner I would pick PA over MD but Baltimore isn't bad if you live in the burbs and don't own guns.
6/11/2009 5:12:45 PM
baltimore city life >>>>>>>>>>.philly all overphilly is the worst.
6/11/2009 5:19:34 PM
i heard that philly has black peoples in it - like spinner wheels black - can you confirm?
6/11/2009 5:22:40 PM
6/11/2009 6:00:14 PM
i lived about 20 minutes north of baltimore for about 3 months. it was cool. the city is nice to be around, but i wouldn't try to live in it.
