I am selling video game stuff on craigslist and I got this message this morning. It almost seems like the Nigerian Scam except he doesn't ask me to send him money back. And the other thing thats odd is that he doesn't say what items he wants. Just all around seems funny to me.

Hello,
Am James and i want to buy this item and as such do withdraw
the item from craigslist to avoid disturbance as you will be receiving
payment as soon as possible.i would have love to come over to your
location
but due to fact that i am a pilot and always very busy and also i am
just setting my apartment and moving to your area so,I want you to
know that i will be paying via bank certified check .I will need you
to provide me with the following.information to facilitate the mailing
of the check.
1.Your full name
2.Your mailing address be it residential address
3.Your phone number.
**I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for
moving as i will have my mover come over as soon as you have the
check and also how much is your last offer price?
Thanks......

If you have to ask the answer is always yes. That is definitely a scam.

any time I sell anything on Craigslist I always get several of those messages

you should try looking for a roommate on CL. You get some REALLY good ones.

He wants you to deposit his check into your account. He then uses some Nigerian magic or something to steal your banking information.

I sold a laptop on ebay, and the winner with 0 ratings tried this shit even though my only payment method was Paypal. Needless to say I told him/her to fuck off.

I can tell by the use of the enter key that its a scam. Normal craigslist people either type under 10 words or huge run on sentences.

Or at least, if he has to meet you in person for this scam, this is an ideal chance if you've always wanted to rape a man.
