Mindstorm, that was one of the dumbest things i have ever read. A steam plant is a type of power plant. He never said coal plant.
6/16/2009 1:13:07 AM
^Learn about your campus before you try to call someone out. Steam plants generate steam, not power (at least in this case). There's a steam plant on Yarbrough and one on Cates. Get it straight.
6/16/2009 1:20:22 AM
Smarty pants what does that steam do? Move a turbine that produces electricity. DUH
6/16/2009 1:28:18 AM
In a steam power plant, yes, it spins a turbine to generate electricity. That's not what happens on campus. Before you try to bust balls, make sure you're not gonna look like a dumbass.Do some reading: http://www.ncsu.edu/energy/2008/energysources.php

Any time they are tearing up the roads or a parking lot on campus... they're probably working on the steam lines.I don't know if it has gotten any better but several years ago it was really, really bad. Probably had a lot to do with the building renovations as well. I remember several cases where they'd rip up a parking lot, fix/replace the lines, fill in the hole, pave over it, and rip it up again within a few days of 'finishing' the repair job.I think they were just after the prime parking spots in that section of campus.[Edited on June 16, 2009 at 7:34 AM. are there any other courts around campus other than this one?
6/16/2009 7:47:32 AM
Around campus as in walking distance or around campus as in short drive (less than 5 minutes)?
6/16/2009 7:49:49 AM
drive to the top of the Red Hat parking deck lol
6/16/2009 7:52:32 AM

within a short drive. I'll drive further than that if the courts are nicer.
6/16/2009 8:10:32 AM
There's one at the Powell Drive park. Haven't been in years, but I usually see people out there when I drive by. Probably 3-4 miles from central campus.[Edited on June 16, 2009 at 8:20 AM. Reason : -]
