I was supposed to go to Canada in July, but the wife is having Visa issues. So we are going southwest instead. We plan on going to the Pensacola/Destin area, as well as New Orleans. Is Biloxi, MS or Mobile, AL worth stopping in? Or should be just enjoy the coast in FL?

There's a road trip thread with many helpful suggestions.

Budget?
How much time do you have?

I have from the 9th - 19th off. As of right now I want like 3 full days in the Destin area, 2 in New Orleans, a day in Atlanta...then there is drive time. So I want like another day or two near by.

I took southwest to mean the region, not the direction

there is nothing to them...

mobile is just woods, sorta like riding around in the country here...and biloxi is just the nasty ass beach on the gulf of mexico...complete with old sewage pipes lining the coast a few hundred feet out in the water...

my brother used to live in gulfport which is on a road sign different from biloxi...and there just isn't anything exciting about it...it's just a trashy little town on the beach

i'm somewhat new to this whole marrying a foreigner deal - one of my wife's friends did this recently and said there was a 4yr waiting period until he could become a citizen and even then they had to prove they got married for love and not so he could gain citizenship - i really didn't think that effected their travel or anything like that

what kind of issue would stop her from coming back to the US while she's married to you?

She has a work visa that is in a renewal process, and if she crosses the border prior to getting the new visa, they restart the process. which could leave her without a valid visa.

All I remember about Seattle is asking my Grandmother why a hotel would have an hourly rate.

Atlanta eh?

Biloxi is definitely worth it if you gamble

I got some coupons that I picked up in New Orleans when I was there last weekend, $45 a night at the French Quarter Holiday Inn

looks like most people ignored the first post. Seattle, Vegas, etc...not really too close to where I am going.
