The Rockets one, I think that's the first one there, is so awesome. The mascot's reaction is priceless.

[Edited on June 17, 2009 at 4:51 PM. Reason : I think the last one is a commercial. Seems fake.]

Why do people propose in public if they don't already know the answer?

if i was a girl and that happened to me in public like that it'd likely sway my answer to a resounding no, even if it was a yes so far

you just dont do that

the girls running off crack me up

how embarrassing for all parties involved. makes you wonder how many people actually discuss the topic of engagement and marriage before it happens

the cheerful christmas music in the background in the final one made me lol...btw, if you buy a ring for a girl, and she says no, can you keep the ring and reuse it for some other girl, or is that in poor taste?

I've always wondered why they just didn't say "Yes" in public and say "No" later in private - to avoid the massive public embarrassment and all. Then I realized that these are women we are talking about here, they simply aren't going to pass up a chance to destroy a guy.

Meh, I take that back - probably a reaction similar to a deer in headlights. Personally I think public proposals are stupid, and I guess if the guy embarrasses his date via a public proposal then it's fair game to embarrass him with a rejection in public as well.

haha i noticed that too!!

i dont know that a public engagement would change an otherwise yes to a no, however if a guy is going to propose he ought to know how his girl feels about proposals. some people like the big jumbotron public gesture, other people like it when their whole family is there

personally, i'd prefer it to be way more private, but everyone is different

I still think the ring on the tip of the cock is the classiest way to do it

[Edited on June 17, 2009 at 5:07 PM. Reason : I could see it being okay with family, but certainly not on a jumbotron with thousands of strangers]

eh. i don't think they come out of it on top here - well especially not the sports and tv proposals. i think they freak out and don't know what else to do except run. thousands of strangers staring at you and an unexpected proposal seems like enough to make anyone run.

but like in the first one how did they get her down there? she should have known what was coming and said no i'm not going down or something. in the other sports one she was tricked.

i'm pretty sure the 3rd one is a hoax....i've read somewhere that it was done to try and help attendence or something like that, get people talking about the arena. some of the other sports ones may also follow this.

I was talking more about the way it was shot, the way people were talking, the lame reactions, not whatever the fuck you're talking about.

The way it was shot, and the reactions aside, that is very much how yuppies talk and behave in a social setting. They are all so fake, yet very real. The way they sit up in their seats, hold their wine glasses, etc.
I've seen it first hand -- it's scary.
