my dad loves taking day hikes and just taking pictures, and we've been to most of the parks around here...so i was thinking we'd all (my brothers, my mom, and myself) head to one of those parks, have a cookout for lunch, and then spend the day hiking and such

trying not to drive any more than 2 hours (less would be great) from durham...know of any good places in addition to these two? are either of them particularly scenic and/or have good hiking paths? any other suggestions?

morrow mountain is big. it has an old homestead thats been turned into a museum and is right there on lake tillery which might present some fun stuff to do.

cliffs of the neuse doesn't really have the many miles of trails, but the views from up on the cliffs are pretty cool. definitely the coolest view in wayne county anyway.
