For me, it's "Dancing Days," which I feel perfectly showcases Scott Weiland's skills as a songwriter.

umm. not many of them anymore. but i can still get into interstate love song and a couple others.

many of them fall way too far into the period grunge crap. and i used to like stone temple pilots quite a bit. at least i liked that purple album.

I still can't decide if this was meant to be a serious thread based on the first post...

Why do you say that? "Dancing Days" is a great example of the rhythm that really defines the STP sound. They've written plenty of other great songs, but that one's the best in my opinion. Do you not like it or something?

I was more partial to when I saw them play "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" in Charlotte in 02 I think, which really exemplifies all their good qualities, but I can't find it on any of their cds...

I seriously started to reply 3 or 4 times to this thread before I finally did, I really just think Frosh is just fucking with everyone

^of course he is.

in case anyone still doesn't get it, "dancing days" is a cover. therefore praising it for weiland's songwriting skills is clearly an attempt at funny.

I think my favorite STP song is either "Sex Type Thing" or "Interstate Love Song."

Also, guys, this thread wasn't meant to reflect a low opinion of STP. It was meant to dredge up people with no sense of humor.

It's between "ILS," "Big Empty," and "Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart" for me. I can't decide.

when i first picked up guitar, my momz bought me the complete tablature book for core. it's satisfying to know how to play plush the right way. so i'd have to say, that's my fav stp song.
