this may end up in tales of the technically inept

i just bought a lenovo s10-2, which is advertised to have a 160gb Hard drive. When i go to 'my computer' the c drive is listed at 103gb with 93gb free, and the d drive at 30.3gb with 29gb free.
those 2 drive only add up to 130gb, where are the other 30 missing gigs?

1.) 160000/1024 = ~156000 (so you shouldn't see much more than 156gb total and you're only "missing" about 23gb)
2.) computer manufacturers these days almost always have a hidden recovery partition (which is why you don't receive OS discs anymore)

Right click on my computer and go to Manage

Then click on Disk Management. You should be able to see your partitions there.

Personally, I wouldn't have posted that link. Not good advice for n00bs who really do need that factory recovery partition. It'll lead to threads like,

HALP! MY CPU IS BROKEN! and OMG, XP SUCKS or possibly a very stupid question about how to recover my computer

altho for serious dont ever delete the system recovery partiton. ever. The only exception is if you delete it and replace it with the one windows 7 creates. It takes up such a small amount of space and you dont ever need to worry about needing to find that stupid OEM specific install cd.
