i guess i mean to ask, if all your interesting stories involve alcohol, does that make you an alcoholic?

the only interesting stories i have about myself while sober are childhood stories. so i guess i'll start from the beginning....

i was born in chicago, in cook county hospital, one of the worst hospitals in the country at the time. the show ER was based on that hospital. it was cheap, and that's what mattered most to my parents. i have two older brothers, so obv my parents wanted a daughter. when i was born, i could imagine the disappointment my parents felt when they saw my little pecker. and it must have been little, because the copy of my birth certificate had me down as female, something i didn't realize until 16 years later when i went to the DMV with the copy, which was deemed invalid proof of identification, since, well, i was male. on top of that, my parents dressed me in dresses when i was little. i have a picture saved on my computer to prove it. their explanation was, when they had a baby shower, people didn't know if the baby was boy or girl, so some people bought girl clothes, just in case. on top of that, i was circumcised late, eight years later to be exact. their "explanation" being that circumcision was not considered to be a necessary medical practice at the time of my birth. of course, i have my own theories, which involve years of complex psychological analyses on my parents. i think they wanted to put me through a sex change operation but just couldn't afford it at the time.

but deep down inside, i know i just use this as an excuse to drink.
but in my defense, funny stories are enhanced with alcohol.
i'm such a glutton for punishment.
