let's just go with

"ten"

[Edited on June 25, 2009 at 11:35 AM. Reason : like, "i was born in eighty-eight"..."i was born in ten"]

[Edited on June 25, 2009 at 11:37 AM. Reason : "twenty ten" is best though. that's how everybody in my office says it.]

More debatable is what we're going to refer to the current decade as in the future

I love 80's music, I like 90's music, and music this decade has been decent at best

Twenty years from now, do I call it "2000's music" ? Seems kinda vague

It cracks me up that when people say "turn of the century" they still mean 1800 to 1900.
