So a couple weeks ago, a friend gave me a rant about how another friend of our's fucked his ex. His exact words were "no matter how long you've been broken up, you don't fuck your friend's ex"

Fast forward to last night. Same friend who gave the rant calls me up to tell me he's into my ex, and wants my permission to make a move. I tell him that she's a bitch and its a bad idea, but that he's an adult and can make his own decisions and I won't stop him (I had to hold back from calling him a hypocrite)

Turns out he had already been fucking her and asked my permission after the fact.

Although I wouldn't have liked it either way, I would have been supportive had they been straight up with me. Instead, they both directly lied to me about it and are trying to keep it a secret from everyone, even though we all figured it out already.

unless it was a very recent break up and the girl broke up with friend 1 to be with friend 2 then it shouldn't matter. some people get along and belong together, and others don't. some are just DTF.

A friend of mine ended up marrying one of my exs. Actually, when they began to date he wasn't just a friend he but was also a roommate. I broke up with her and 3 months later they started dating. They connected after her and I broke up so I did not see any reason they should not be together. He tried to hide it from me, but, as people always do I found out.
