This past weekend this girl i know got a dui. I know it is her first dui and was wondering if wake county will allow a person to enter into the First Time Offenders program for dui. From what i have read I dont believe so. Also if anyone has any good advice or information that would be helpful as she is freaking out saying it is going to cost her $20,000 in the long run for insurance, lawyer fees, etc

no first offender's program.

What did she blow? That will dictate how stiff the penalty.

She can get a provisional license so she can drive during the day, but not on weekends unless she works on the weekends.

And it will not cost her anywhere near $20k, unless she got in an accident and has to pay damages.

After legal fees and fines, she's probably looking at about $2500-$3000. Now if she blew over .15, there will be the additional cost of getting the brethalizer on her car. And yeah, her insurance is going to go through the roof. But still nowhere near $20k

i think she said she blew a 0.10 and the reason she was saying it is going to cost $20000 is because someone told her car insurance goes up 400% for 3 years

she can expect to pay about $150-$200 a month for insurance, depending on her coverage and her driving record prior to the DUI

she was whining to me that she will have to pay $500 a month when it increases 400%. I told her to drop her collision insurance because she is a noob if she is already paying over $100 a month.

she shouldn't have to pay insurance because she shouldn't be driving a goddamn car. they need to revoke her license.

not that it applies here, but they recently changed it to .15 or higher (used to be .16 or higher.) last time i heard, it was around $1300 for an interlock.

and remember kids, don't go over the speed limit. that's endangering the lives of others as well. it's against the law anyways. bahhhbahhhbahhhhhh

to be fair, .10 is hardly drunk. I'm sure plenty of people on here have driven when they are at least that and thought they were perfectly fine.

It stands to reason that she had been in multiple accidents, if her insurance was already that high. I say, if you're not fucking her, let her figure this out on her own.

well the point I am making is that a beer with dinner wouldn't cause you to be illegally intoxicated

so there would be nothing to whine about

The law isn't "Don't drink and drive". The law is "Don't drink enough to have an alcohol content greater than .08 and drive".

seriously Jame Crouch will not take the case without FDT.

he is a wolf web loyalist.

she also doesn't stand a chance at winning without James Crouch.
