My parents are in Australia so I flew to AZ last week to watch the house and the dogs.

Yesterday my sister and nephew, J, are over and I'm convinced there's a bird in one of the fireplaces and decide that I may be able to see it if I go to the roof and look down....so I inform my sister I am going to go on the roof and she says, "Don't you dare! OMG PLEASE DON'T! YOU COULD FALL! AND THEN YOU COULD DIE..........and I can't take care of J AND the dogs!!!"

The answer is that I made it to about the midway on a ladder up to the roof, but the metal on the ladder was so fucking hot that I decided to send my bro-in-law up there instead. I mean I wanted to go...who knows what exciting things can be found on the roof, but apparently once on the roof he still had to run and jump to get on top of that chimney and he's 6'1" and I'm 5'2", not to mention a total pussy when it comes to any sort of pain. So he went up there and indeed he saw a bird way down the chimney. He decided to leave the flue open and figured at some point the bird would drop down. The bird did indeed drop down the next morning....it gave me and the three dogs a heart attack and then flew around the living room for a while...knocked into a few walls, the piano and it had me screaming... but I opened both the french doors and took a magazine and had to wave the thing outta the house. Stupid dove. And he wasn't hurt because 5 minutes later when the dogs were let out and they headed straight for the thing which was sitting on the lawn, the thing took off no problem. This was good because I couldn't handle another dead bird here. I've run out of shoe boxes
