I need suggestions here for the Raleigh (27606) area.

I've looked up Clearwire and AT&T's DSL. Any suggestions out there?

I currently have Roadrunner Standard (7Mbps) and love it. I want to stay around this speed. I'm looking into Dish Network for the TV and, if I do that, I believe TWC is going to rape my internet bill. To get the $39.99 rate, you have to have digital cable or they tack on another $15 or so for internet... stupid rule...

I'd like to keep it in the low $30's while maintaining the same speed. I've never had trouble with TWC reliability (other than the modem dying that one time). I'd like to stay with consistent speeds and someone with a great CS.

Thanks.

Congratulations!
U-verse is available at this location:

yes... actually...

I definitely want the Elite for the High Speed Internet. I'll have to do more research on the TV packages though. Never heard of it until now... Thanks.

lolol.

well, i mean, there are only a few providers to choose from in the first place... so...

but yeah. u-verse is awesome. i have the 18mbps internet package and it's extremely fast (and, unlike twc, i actually see the advertised speeds!!)

Oh hot damn...

I think I found what I have been looking for. Thanks evan for not being a douche bag and helping out. I appreciate it man. I didn't see anything about U-verse on AT&T's main site when looking at their internet and cable packages. They should totally link that shit. I mean, I know a link is there under "At Home." But I didn't know what it was so I didn't bother to click it. More advertising or w/e would be helpful...

Good looking out buddy. I'm gonna talk it over with the wife, and I'm 90% sure that we'll switch over asap.

no coverage in raleigh. AT&T is the ILEC in raleigh. I believe CTC is the only CLEC in town, but they have a very small presence.

Verizon is the ILEC in durham, but no FiOS just yet. There are rumors that it's coming soon, and if so, i will switch immediately.

Umm... My RoadRunner bill is at $39.99 every month. This is the normal price. I had their special for where it was $29.99/month for 6 months but that has long since expired. So I got bumped up to 39.99 and been there ever since. I don't have Cable and I don't have digital phone (I don't even see the point in that, I have a cell phone).

Have you tried calling them and asking?

unfortunately, yes, no fios in raleigh.

and if durham is getting fios, i'll fucking move there in a heartbeat. last i heard, verizon was selling all of their infrastructure in NC to someone else.

Roadrunner is raping me for $49.95 ... switching to U-Verse next week.

You'll be impressed with their TV Packages. I was paying 64.95 for directv package that didn't even offer HD. Now, I will be paying about the same price and get MUCH more channels with U-Verse U200 package.

Perhaps you can find an ISP Provider via the listing in the Office of Redundancy Office.

Might be an old pricing setup. I don't think I want to bother with TWC anymore, even if it is just for their RR... They've just irritated me too much over the past 4-5 years...

*sigh* I might consider just dropping the cable and keeping TWC for the interwebs... We'll see.

TWC is by far the best consumer ISP I've ever dealt with - comparing to Comcast, and SBC/Yahoo. Not even CLOSE.

But Verizon and U-verse both have gotten pretty glowing reviews from all aspects.
