alright mitsu, lesson #2

search before you hit post topic. the search feature was broken for a long time, which means a lot of people still don't use it, but it's fixed now and works quite well. however, in many cases, such as this, the original thread was titled so as to be funny, not to be informative. this is a necessary evil that will provide more lols due to the drama of clicking a vague title and not knowing what waits inside. this thread is not an example of those lols. this thread is a complete and utter failure. it brings nothing new, no funny joke, no nothing.

so tell me. how would one search to see if a picture has been used to start a thread such as this?

well, most folks don't realize it, but if you search a picture's url, the search function will actually find posts containing that picture. in other words, it searches the actual code of the post, not the words in the post, if that makes sense. (i'm no computer wizz so whatever)

but that would only work if both you and the original poster of the picture are using the same picture location.

the best advice i can give you for situations like these is to remember that whenever you click "post topic" you are taking a risk. you can do all the research and searching you want, but you may still end up posting material that will receive [old] comments and flaming. these are important parts of tww. the idea is for people to be afraid of these comments and only bring quality lols to tww. you're gonna make lame threads, but the only [fail] comes when you fail to learn from those mistakes and repeatedly post lame threads (see: the lyrics threads of NC86).
