i am tired of hearing you political rock bullshit. No one cares how the fuck you feel about the government in the u.s.a and the war in iraq. so please stop releasing shitty records.

and also clear channel sucks. 106.5 in Charlotte sucks. the following bands sound the same..

three days grace
Breaking Benjamins
saving abel
Sether
Apocaliptica
evanescence

please take crappy music off the radio..

that is all...

since when did this become a spelling contest?
btw, 106.5.
remember when 106.5 was good? i dont think it's their fault really. to an extent it is...but there's so much more mainstream music that is complete garbage now...

hell yea man. i remember when they use to play good 90s rock like pearl jam, 311, rancid, just good music. now i cut it on and all those fucking bands sound the same. it pisses me off. clear channel no shit has ruined everything.

it also pissed me off when 311 was charlotte last week, how you did not hear shit on the radio about the 311 show until like 2 days before, then that all you heard 311, and 106.5 was like we are your official 311 concert station, now the show has passed and i haven't heard 311 on there since. shit is weak. i love charlotte but it it is such a bandwagon city..

you can pick up 93.3 in parts of charlotte. i think that station plays music closer to what the end used to play

i love how they showed up in 2005 after being irrelevant for years wearing makeup with political opinions and expected people to give a shit. unfortunately a lot of people did

i saw an interview with billy joe where he said if someone said green day wasn't a punk band, he'd kick their teeth in.

i really don't think people buy their albums because of any "message" they may be trying to make. maybe some people just like their music. wow what a concept!

i really dont think people are as independent as you seem to think they are. And the amount of ignorance it would take to form such an opinion is probably beyond my ability to reckon. probably involves power towers and inverse diametrics or something.

typical of college students anyway

same (cept I vaguely recognize Benjamins and Grace, and I thought Apocalyptica was a more underground band)

of course, i'm downloading Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, and Twisted Sister now, so maybe I just like better music

i havent read the whole thread but i will say that to some extent I agree with the OP.

i don't like it when a band produces work that is political, even if i agree with it. my reason-i usually listen to music to get away from real life stuff, you know?

i mean if im going for a run, i wanna hear a song about girls wanting to have fun rather than the shutting down of Guantanamo Bay. but that's just me

I remember before Clear Channel 106.5 had an awesome End of Summer Weenie Roast every year, with a ton of good bands on both the main and second stage.

Now it's just a stop on someone's tour that they call the weenie roast.

Metallica was pretty good for their first few albums. And Justice For All was pretty good but it seemed they got a taste for preachy lyrics and it was all down hill from there. They need a new name like Gaytallica.

Not a big Green Day fan, but I saw them at Lollapalooza 1994 where they caused a min-riot at Walnut Creek which was, at that time, the coolest thing I had ever seen in my life. I can appreciate them for what they are and their impact on punk rock. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and then you have...Green Day. Green Day.
