i am tired of hearing you political rock bullshit. No one cares how the fuck you feel about the government in the u.s.a and the war in iraq. so please stop releasing shitty records. and also clear channel sucks. 106.5 in Charlotte sucks. the following bands sound the same..three days graceBreaking Benjaminssaving abelSetherApocalipticaevanescenceplease take crappy music off the radio..that is all...[Edited on July 11, 2009 at 2:04 PM. I, too, cannot spell
7/11/2009 2:02:48 PM
since when did this become a spelling contest?btw, 106.5. remember when 106.5 was good? i dont think it's their fault really. to an extent it is...but there's so much more mainstream music that is complete garbage now...

7/11/2009 2:11:50 PM
i really wish green day would've asked me if it was ok for them to put out another album
7/11/2009 2:27:53 PM
you can pick up 93.3 in parts of charlotte. i think that station plays music closer to what the end used to play
7/11/2009 2:29:37 PM
i really fucking hate green day as well. simplest songs ever.. what a joke.
7/11/2009 2:29:49 PM
hmm, attacking someone for expressing themselves by doing the same. you're cool!
7/11/2009 2:32:40 PM
Hmm attacking someone for expressing themselves for doing the same. TIPTOP
7/11/2009 2:33:49 PM
i love how they showed up in 2005 after being irrelevant for years wearing makeup with political opinions and expected people to give a shit. unfortunately a lot of people did
7/11/2009 2:34:43 PM
lolzi saw an interview with billy joe where he said if someone said green day wasn't a punk band, he'd kick their teeth in. ok cool.[Edited on July 11, 2009 at 2:37 PM. Reason : wut]
7/11/2009 2:36:20 PM
i love how it fucking WORKED
7/11/2009 2:36:26 PM
i really don't think people buy their albums because of any "message" they may be trying to make. maybe some people just like their music. wow what a concept!
7/11/2009 2:36:42 PM
i really dont think people are as independent as you seem to think they are. And the amount of ignorance it would take to form such an opinion is probably beyond my ability to reckon. probably involves power towers and inverse diametrics or something.typical of college students anyway
7/11/2009 2:39:22 PM
you're right, people can't form their own opinions as to what music sounds good to them. what was i thinking?
7/11/2009 2:42:42 PM
you'd be surprised.
7/11/2009 2:43:06 PM
thank you. finally someone comes of age
7/11/2009 2:43:26 PM

the only band in the OP that i recognized is evanescence. i must really be out of touch.
7/11/2009 3:21:42 PM
same (cept I vaguely recognize Benjamins and Grace, and I thought Apocalyptica was a more underground band)of course, i'm downloading Iron Maiden, Quiet Riot, and Twisted Sister now, so maybe I just like better music
7/11/2009 3:24:00 PM
wellthat settles that
7/11/2009 4:42:36 PM
here's an idea1. buy music that you enjoy2. never listen to the shitty radio music channels3. ???4. profit
7/11/2009 4:46:12 PM
i havent read the whole thread but i will say that to some extent I agree with the OP.i don't like it when a band produces work that is political, even if i agree with it. my reason-i usually listen to music to get away from real life stuff, you know?i mean if im going for a run, i wanna hear a song about girls wanting to have fun rather than the shutting down of Guantanamo Bay. but that's just me
7/11/2009 4:55:12 PM
ATTN: PEEN GAY AMIRITE?
7/11/2009 4:58:15 PM
i happen to like Breaking Benjamins
7/11/2009 5:05:27 PM
I remember before Clear Channel 106.5 had an awesome End of Summer Weenie Roast every year, with a ton of good bands on both the main and second stage. Now it's just a stop on someone's tour that they call the weenie roast.
7/11/2009 5:06:14 PM
more like green gay amirite?
7/11/2009 5:15:18 PM
7/11/2009 5:17:44 PM
lol i remember going to center city fest when i was in 6th or 7th grade to see fenix tx and being blown away by the amount of weed being smoked in the widespread panic crowd.
7/11/2009 5:20:39 PM
7/11/2009 5:26:39 PM
I love the posts complaining about OPs complaining about Green Day. JeepMan, posting and expressing your opinion or a blog style topic by newbs is not well tolerated. So here's what you need to do:1) Pad until you have at least 18,000 posts2) ...3) profit
7/11/2009 7:08:03 PM
7/11/2009 7:09:44 PM
^ don't forget wesley willis
7/11/2009 7:18:24 PM
Metallica was pretty good for their first few albums. And Justice For All was pretty good but it seemed they got a taste for preachy lyrics and it was all down hill from there. They need a new name like Gaytallica.
7/11/2009 7:21:46 PM
Master of Puppets was "preachy" too.
7/12/2009 12:34:35 AM
7/12/2009 12:46:35 AM

7/12/2009 8:44:38 PM

7/12/2009 9:20:15 PM

7/12/2009 10:46:30 PM
7/12/2009 11:01:47 PM
Not a big Green Day fan, but I saw them at Lollapalooza 1994 where they caused a min-riot at Walnut Creek which was, at that time, the coolest thing I had ever seen in my life. I can appreciate them for what they are and their impact on punk rock. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and then you have...Green Day. Green Day.
