7/11/2009 10:17:45 PM
I'm not even a BB freak and I had I knew what you were referring to.
7/11/2009 10:40:55 PM
omg this is taking soooooooooooooooooo long
7/11/2009 10:58:01 PM
I don't suppose you know anything about the 9630?
7/11/2009 11:20:57 PM
apparantley it's like the bold with a higher resolution screen, which confuses me because the bold is already like an hd tv.
7/11/2009 11:34:20 PM
WTF no support for facebook, yahoo, or aim apps. I'm going to have to do this whole shit over again looking for a hybrid OS
7/11/2009 11:55:45 PM
Thinking about getting a tour(9630), m2c?
7/12/2009 12:02:16 AM
well not sure if anyone recalls my rant from about a month ago regarding my dealings with Verizon....but long story short, my dad's friend's son has a Bold and loves it so I went to see if Verizon had those and they don't but then I see this new phone to pre-order, which I'd never heard anything about...and since I actually got a GOOD salesperson on the phone this time, he upped my renew date so now I have to decide if I want to get the 9630 but I had no clue about it until a couple hours ago.Don't suppose you've heard anything bout it?
7/12/2009 12:05:22 AM
the screen on the tour is going to blow iphone out of the water. graphics on the bold are superior as it is.
7/12/2009 12:05:55 AM
well I just know that the storm is a POS with the touch screen crap and holds no water to the iPhone.... I mean I want good graphics, but more importantly I want a reliable phone
7/12/2009 12:07:35 AM
well it looks similar to the bold which is based off of the 8800, both are very reliable.
7/12/2009 12:09:19 AM
It's gotten a lot of hype in the past months and the reviews seem pretty good. It looks like a lot of people will be dumping their storms and other blackberry's for the tour. I think I'm gonna stick with my storm for the time being especially with better things on the horizon. If you're up for renewal, I'd definitely say go for it.I toyed around with getting an iphone but went with Verizon and the storm instead. I've had it for about 4 months and have no regrets. The storm with a newer leaked OS is leaps and bounds ahead of when it was released. Great service, speedy scrolling and internet, and after using the click feedback I don't think I could use a pure resistive or capacitive touch screen.[Edited on July 12, 2009 at 12:21 AM. Reason : ]

I hate how they keep giving the cool screens to verizon.
7/12/2009 12:19:01 AM
ha. who do you have?
7/12/2009 12:22:18 AM
I'm just looking at the comparisons on the BB website and I'm not very bb savvy so I guess I'm confused but just for fun I went and compared the 8830 (which I have now) the bold, storm and tour http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/compare/product-attr-compare.jsp?products=1667&products=463&products=946&products=1326 and I don't get why the QWERTY keyboard is only showing up for the 8830. Also, do you guys see differences between the 8830 and the tour that should be a red flag to me?
7/12/2009 12:22:33 AM
The tour is a world phone and replacing the 8830
7/12/2009 12:24:15 AM
well, as much as I'd like to think I actually WANTED the world edition, I almost never travel out of the country, and when I have, I've been warned not to even turn on my phone because it immediately starts to charge 'world' rates even if you turn the phone right off.... so in other words, I don't need the worldwide coverage but are you saying that as of tomorrow (that's when the tour comes out) the 8830 will be an old version?
7/12/2009 12:27:31 AM
afaik it won't even work unless you call global support and have them put you on a global plan. And if you did plan on going out of the country, the best thing to do is call global support, tell them you're going out of the country and would like to be able to use a prepaid sim card. They should unlock it with no problem. My storm is unlocked and I don't have any plans on going out of the country. Did it just in case I got the urge to switch to TMobile or AT&T
7/12/2009 12:33:27 AM
so I'm trying to read up on the interwebs about this phone and I see some talk about it not having WiFi.....again, I admit to being somewhat clueless but what does my 8830 have?
7/12/2009 12:37:20 AM
Just your regular wireless connection from Verizon. So if you don't have service on the phone(in a poor signal area), you won't be able to use data or email. With wifi, you could connect to a wireless network at your house, airport, coffee shop or anywhere that offers free internet. I don't believe any Verizon blackberrys offer wifi(that's coming though. ). Some of the Windows Mobile phones (omnia, touch pro, etc) have wifi.PS- www.crackberry.com bookmark it if you haven't been there already[Edited on July 12, 2009 at 12:49 AM. Reason : ]

ah....well I mean I'm used to what I have now, and if nothing else, I just don't want to lose anything....I mean with my renew every 2, I could renew and get the 8830 for free ($119 - automatic $70 rebate - $50 new every2) which I guess then makes sense since there will now be the new and better version....ie the 9630 right?
7/12/2009 12:52:07 AM
OS 5 sucks. OS 5 is awesome. I need to find a good hybrid. I miss facebook, yahoo messenger, and aim. The new BBM is not tha much different but I still have mixed feelings. They didn't change sms viewing like I'd hoped. The new call log, and much of the bb in general does look cleaner.wut 2 dew
