2 options.

1. Say, "FUCK YOU".

2. Don't fly.

take her flying, she'll be cooler about it, or offer to let her go with you whenever you go.

Not necessarily. I've had to make an "emergency landing" at KRDU because a grown man acted like such a little bitch the second the wheels left the ground that we literally had to immediately declare an emergency due to a "sick passenger" (We had already declared the emergency by like 100ft AGL ), enter the pattern and land. I lost all respect for the man, but anyway, taking someone up doesn't always fix the problem.

Not really, "unrelated personal story", but yeah, it doesn't fix the problem.

I dunno, I think half the time I don't "approve" of a guy doing something, it's because I wanna do it too and they haven't invited me along

do what Françoise Moitessier de Cazalet said, "When a man must choose between his life and a woman, it must be his life, without hesitation."

My girlfriend doesn't approve of a lot of shit I do. It's not like she has to participate if she doesn't want to. Compromise works both ways.

Only time I don't approve is when safety is an issue or I see something ending bad. Otherwise it's your life and I'm just along for the ride (after you fly 3,000 hours)

So you're saying you don't want to fly in a plane that took off from a treadmil?

Firstly, little planes are kinda scary and when you crash it's gonna leave a mark.

Seconded, you can get an air bj so you have to be prepared for distractions.

Fourth, little. plane.

FIF, omg yikes.

Smaller aircraft generally glide better than a massive airliner, so if you lose power you'll likely want to be in a smaller aircraft. Also, you'll generally have mechanical linkages instead of hydraulics to move the control surfaces. Shit like that, but the fact that an aircraft is small doesn't mean a lot as far as having to put it into the ground goes.

I've seen two aircraft crash in my lifetime so far and both times everyone survived.

Same girl. I'm a sucker for abuse. I think she's scared of her own shadow.

LOL, told her about going flying Saturday with my old roommate, who's retired Air Force (flew KC135s and was a flight instructor). We did a stall, spin, and recovery. She said that doing that was totally unnecessary and silly to put one's self in that kind of danger. To which I replied that every pilot who gets a license has to do it.

Ah, shit on it. I'm gonna get my license. Whatever happens, happens.

Everytime I read the news and a small plane has crashed everyone is mangled. When a big plane crashes there are some survivors (not all the time just seems like a higher percentage than small plans)

Also, little planes react to wind real easily meaning I'm puking my guts.

^^ Well, the spin is not necessary for a license, but it would be absolutely idiotic to never practice spin entry and recovery IMO.

^ That's your problem right there, you're looking at the news for facts about aircraft crashes!

Every single incident that I've been personally involved in which has later made it on the news has been misrepresented in some way, often to an extreme degree.
