So I realized today that it's been the better part of a week since I've had a cig - I had the last one out of a pack on Sunday evening, and while I bought a new pack, I haven't opened it yet. The thing is that I haven't even really wanted to smoke all week, which is pretty unusual. Not that I am/was a heavy smoker (3-4 during the weekdays, maybe a pack over the weekend when I'm drinking heavily), but it's been nice to think "ick, no" when I think of a cigarette instead of "mmmm, yes". So here's how I did it.... Maybe you can try the same if you're trying to quit smoking.1. go out on a Friday and drink/smoke A LOT2. wake up Saturday and not really want to smoke since you feel like death from the previous night3. force yourself to smoke Saturday anyway4. start drinking Saturday afternoon5. start smoking. smoke A LOT, again.6. wake up Sunday and feel like death, again7. continue the drinking/smoking cycle8. wake up Monday and feel like death, again9. think about having a smoke before going to work10. vomit11. success!I hope this helps one of you out there

That is actually REALLY close to how I quit smoking minus the vomit part. Just booze and smoke enough where you don't want a smoke or drink for a while. It works quite well for a way to get started.

my granny did something like this to stop. she sat down and chain smoked a whole pack until it made her sick. then she never smoked another one.
