Teeming cesspool of incompetence though it may be, I don't think anybody on this website ever touted Joe the Plumber as being particularly bright, insightful, or even average. So it stands to reason that there shouldn't be much debate over his dumb-assery.

Likewise, there was widespread acknowledgement during the McCain campaign that he made some terrible choices, including focusing on Joe Numb-nuts.

Obama didn't falter on the question.

JtP faltered on his understanding of the fucking tax code and the proposed changes by each candidate, which may have been reasonable when he first asked the question, but not in the following months where he continued to spout falsities about the personal impact Obama's proposed changes would have on him. He was, not surprisingly, completely backwards on which tax plan would benefit himself more.
