heading down horne st. ready to turn right on hillsborough and the light is red with 1 car stopped in front of me

it's 2:40am and "Aurora" or whatever that ghetto-ass club is called now is kicking people out so the streets are full of hood rats, just as stereotypical as you please

a pair of them come walking up and try to open the doors of the car in front of me, but it's locked, so they keep walking up horne street. they try to get into my car, but my doors were locked as well, so they keep on walking

if my doors hadn't been locked the best case scenario would have been a severe irritation as the guy said "derp de doo, look at me, I got in a random white person's car. I'm so craaaaazy." Worst case scenario could have been pretty bad.

I had been at places where alcohol was both sold and served that night, so unfortunately I was not legally allowed to have my gun with me, much to my dismay at that moment

[Edited on July 19, 2009 at 3:41 AM. Reason : I'm sure the guy trying to get into my car was following the same law, right?.... right?]

I had also drank that night (no dnl), so I would have had to have it in the trunk or some other unhandy place

yea can't u keep it in the glove box? i thought it was all good as long as the weapon wasn't "readily asscessible" i.e. on your lap

you can't possess or use a firearm if you have any alcohol in your body. no .08 or anything, you have to have literally no alcohol in you to use a firearm.

which makes sense, I don't disagree with that

wait, they tried to open your drivers door or passenger door... while you were stopped at a red light? did they look at you, or indicate anything?

and why did you not call the police to report this? this is like one step away from attempted carjacking or kidnapping, even.

you should at least give a report and description to put it in the record as saying "shits gettin fucked up out here, yall, and it aint right"

In NC putting your gun in the glovebox is considered concealing it. You have to keep it out and in plain sight.

Once you cross the state line into SC the exact opposite is true.

I thought this had to do with the fact that doors pop open during a collision and people were hanging out mid-spin and getting their heads knocked off by trees like golf balls.

I thought this had to do with driving drunken friends home and them trying to hop out of the car while it's going 60 mph.
