I'm moving into a house for 12 months that has no washer and dryer, but has the hook ups. I was wondering if anyone here had ever run into this problem and what advice you could give.

you should probably figure out if renting would be cheaper than just doing it at a laundromat/friend's place. remember when you rent something you aren't really getting anything out of it (except being able to do your laundry, ofcourse, which is kind of important)

HOWEVER

you should maybe consider buying if you could find used ones on craigslist. because then they'd be yours to keep/sell/etc and you could maybe get some money back from them.

you can get washer/dryer for like 100 bucks or cheaper if you watch craigslist for a week or 2. would have to pick it up probably though

it's usually cheaper to buy them in the long run, even if you get them new

Don't some appliance repair shops have good deals on used appliances from the 1980s?

^yeah, people at the flea market (i assume) back in morehead steals the old appliances the delivery guys bring back behind Lowe's, fix/paint them, and resell them.

although, washer and dryers are a bit of a gamble since they are typically replaced when they break. you can ask department stores if they have damaged delivery or floor items and usually get those for dirt cheap

I fully expected Willy Nilly to write a text wall about how bad washers and dryers are for the environment and insist that the best way to wash clothes is
