Omg shoes, I heart that beer. It's hella potent. Then again pretty much anything dogfishhead (other that festina peche) is potent.

I want to drink w/you someday.

The Wolavers Oatmeal Stout is wonderful. Pours very dark. Has a very nice taste: roasted malt, cofee, and hints of chocolate and smoke. Goes down very smooth, hardly any bitterness or aftertaste. Very little carbonation. Has a great consistency, not too thick and not too watery. No problem to throw back several of these without feeling too full. I'd definitely recommend it. I'm gonna try and find some Weyerbacher again tomorrow though.

I got a 4-pack of Dogfish Head Punkin Ale the other night, and I have to say, I like Cottonwood's Pumpkin Ale a lot better. I wasn't thrilled with paying $8.99 for a 4 pack either.

Founders Harvest Ale is out, and it's pretty awesome. Definitely worth seeking out if you enjoy hoppy beers.

Unless they've changed a lot over the last decade I can't really stand Highland's beers.

Have you had the oatmeal porter?

I didn't like the gaelic ale much, but the oatmeal is incredible.

Yup, and I usually love porters and stouts. I used to live right outside of asheville so i've had most of Highland's beers. Something about that oatmeal porter just tastes awful to me.

No Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin at Whole Foods. I'll probably swing by total wine tomorrow and see if they have it (last time they were out).

made my own six pack at total wine, got the following lineup:

Ommegang Abbey Ale
Stoudts Fat Dog
Ten Pin Porter
Sun Dog amber ale
Post Road pumpkin ale
Vitory Golden Monkey

finished the Fat Dog and wasnt too impressed, it was an oatmeal stout and was a little too bitter for my taste. Halfway through the ommegang, and it is definitely interesting, dont think I could drink a sixer of it, but one beer isnt bad, very fruity and flavorful.

I also got a sixpack of my new favorite beer:

Widmer's Drop Top Amber Ale, sooo damn good. It's like a Fat Tire but with more flavor, delicious.

^^ Is also from a Total Wine sixer. I always eye the Ten Pin Porter when I'm in there, but never pull the trigger. Let me know how it turns out.

yeah I'll probably have that next, I love a good porter

right now I really love that Kona Pipeline Porter as a good "everyday" porter to drink

not super impressed with the Ten Pin Porter. It might be a weird bottle, but it is very carbonated/bubbly. It's almost like drinking a soda, but once I get past the bubbles the taste is pretty good. I like the pipeline porter better

Its almost like the bottle was shaken or partially frozen, but its just been sitting in the fridge like the rest of my beers (which have all been fine). Dunno, weird

Mother-fuckin-yum!!

Just got a growler full of this at the Charleston Beer Exchange. One of the best beers I think I've ever had. I'm always wary of the beers are that double digits in ABV, as American Breweries don't hide the strong alcohol taste that much...but you can barely tell with this one. Fucking delicious.

Also picked up these following beers, but have yet to crack them open until I finish off the rest of the growler of Odyssey this weekend:

(this is an old picture...this year's is "Mogul Madness" instead of just "mogul ale")

^Odyssey is an excellent beer, probably my favorite from Allagash. That Yorkshire Stingo is pretty expensive as I recall, I couldn't bring myself to shell out $13 for a toffee bomb.

^^Yeah...it's $12...but I love Sammy Smith, and this is the only one I haven't tried yet. I was on a small beer buying spree...so I said "fuck it" and got it anyways.

I love coffee beers!! And this one is ridiculous:

Just got a growler of it at the local Beer Exchange. If you're in Raleigh, I think they have it at the Flying Saucer right now.

I get that, but you don't need a cow to convey milk

You don't see every beer with honey in the name have a swarm of bees on the bottole

Its just a little confusing is all, no big deal

Terrapin is known for their wacky labels. I think their label artists do a decent amount of drugs before/while coming up with their designs.

Its a cool looking label

After some research, it seems they like to include an actual image of the turtle on most of their labels, so kudos for at least abstaining from that with this one
