BUT i think his management are a bunch of selfish folk who are desparately draggin the anchor of M-! around with them, and are much more worried about that than getting lucrative fights for Fedor. They want large cuts of the co-promotions when I feel it would be much more wise to take the big paycheck Fedor was going to get (along with the freedom to participate in Combat Sambo) and get more exposure for him and in the long run the management team would make real dollars.

The only problem with the contract the UFC offered is that UFC refuses to give M-1 Global a cut of shit, and instead was going to pay fedor 6 million a fight for 5 fights...Strikeforce is giving fedor less but accepts giving M-1 shares of PPV revenue and co-promotional efforts....theres ZING!! contract accepted!!!


its bullshit to me, Fedor is being strung along by these guys. It has nothing to do with fear of brock, im sure Fedor wnts to fight the best wherever it is. Its just that the way the business works is that the management and agent books the contracts, books the fights and fighters realy have very little say in their careers. thats the way it is, but most fightes have a management staff and agents that weigh the fighters best interests with their own before making decisions. Fedors management is just all about draggin this anchor of M-1 Global through the fuckin desert


^and obviously Fedors inclusion in the EA game did not jeopardize his chance of joining the UFC, they offered him a beast contract and submitted to the demands of his management team with the exception of the co-promotion clause. Dana was obviously blowing hot smoke when he made the comment about banning peple from the UFC for being in the EA game. Hell i think Vitor is going to be in it and hes already back in the UFC fightin Rich Franklin

^that's exactly what I have read and it makes me sad for Fedor because I'd bet he is getting the shaft.

From what I have read/heard, Fedor is nowhere near these negotiations even though Dana has repeatedly requested to speak to the fighter directly. I would imagine that's because his management team is boning him on the deal.

i dont feel like ZUFFA should have to cut its own profits to carry some fight that isnt going to be solely booked by the UFC

thats one of the few things I side with Dana on

if he books this fight co-promoting with some other org, or sends brock to Strikeforce to fight Fedor then that org gets not only more exposure and increased earning potential in the future(theyd for sure put out a beast card along with Lesnar/Fedor) but theyll get all the profits and UFC would get no profits aside from some stipulated amount that would be gained from letting Strikeforce use Brock. Its like the typical fighter contract, while its cool to get paid 100gs a fight, it is ALOT better to get a cut of the PPV buys. The UFC would get no money off the interest their fighter brought to that event

ZUFFA is just trying to maximize revenue

It'd also be an entire different scenario if M-1 brought ANYTHING to the table other than Fedor.

M-1 would have absolutely no risk or costs and everything to gain--including building up their own promotion which currently has no value and would be in direct competition to the UFC if it gained any traction.

Dana offered $30 million for 5 fights which is about 6 times higher than any other fighter in the UFC makes. He may have even gone higher, but the only thing M-1 was interested in was co-promotion which just isn't going to happen.
