~60, when I've been working out over a period of time it moves down to about 50. I have a buddy that is in insane endurance condition. Went to give blood and they measured his at 34. Thought the meter was wrong and took it again and it read 29. The tech had to go get permission from her superior to take his blood.

I don't know: my alarm clock startles the shit out of me, and I jump (literally) out of bed to go across the room to shut it off.
Given that you're supposed to take it when you've just woken up before you do anything to get it up... yeah

HR was 62 at 1015, after having exercised earlier and while at the dr's office. I was surprised

Too high. If you want, I'll give you my dad's email so he can tell you how his cardiologist is surprised that he's still alive after congestive heart failure (considered to be) brought on by years of BP readings lower than yours.

The reason I knew my heart rate yesterday is because I went to the doctor; I wentbecause something's been awry with my blood sugar for some time. Being obese, I just assumed that I was facing type 2 diabetes - especially with a family history of it.

Results are in, and I'm not. Of course, that doesn't answer or solve the problem.

Why am I posting this here in this thread? Because some other results came in:
My cholesterol is 172 and my triglycerides are 83. The nurse actually asked if I was a health nut (What I said: "Compared to a year and a half ago, yeah. But no, I'm not. I like ice cream and bacon." What I'm thinking: "Lady, you weighed me yesterday. What kind of question is THAT?")

If I had not been present for the BP and HR reading, I truly would assume that my lab results were mixed up with someone else's.

I don't know if I'm more shocked by the bloodwork or my heart rate

cheer to the wolf web. a bastion of phsyical fitness, intelligence and attractiveness.

^haha

I just went to http://www.online-stopwatch.com/ and I counted 75 beats in one minute...

I also held an entire full breath (not even a single/slight exhale to relieve pressure) for 2:00.266 before my chest felt like it was about to explode I was shooting for 1:45, but once I got there, I figured I'd go ahead and join the 2 minute club. But go ahead t-dub. Shatter my record.

If I did measure my heart rate and it was like 90 I doubt I'd post it. Just like I wouldn't be braggin if I only weighed 400 lbs, had a room temperature IQ, fucked 1-2 people, or had a 3" erect dong.

if i have a set of data that ranges from 60-100, it doesn't mean the average is 80

average for all people is 60 - 90 or something similar. but as you get older it increases. by your 20s people on average have something in their mid 70s.

the large set of <60 on here is highly suspicious. i'm not sayin...i'm just sayin

I wore a Garmin Forerunner 405 to calculate my resting heart rate overnight:
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/9855851

When I woke up it was 45bpm. During sleep it went as low as 40bpm. Not sure which value to use.. I'm guessing the resting heart rate is calculated when you are conscious, so I'm going with 45.

Mine is 65

But it seems like this could be affected by so many things. With a little practice it is easily possible to slow your heart rate a good bit. On the other hand, some people get freaked out at the doctor and their's would be higher than normal.

haha, i used to do these studies in chapel hill where they'd have to take blood as soon as we woke up. they'd check our heart rate first though. one dude that was there often had trouble getting his heart rate high enough for the machine to even read it. i think it wouldn't read under 40'ish or so.. the real weird part is he didn't work out, at all and never had.

oh, and mine is at 76 right now. although i woke up at 9 and drank a cup of coffee a bit ago so i'm sure that isn't helping
