Is anyone here Base SAS Certified? I'm taking my exam tomorrow and didn't know if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations/tips they could add. Thanks. 8/9/2009 10:34:36 AM |

I am. I assume you've studied the self-paced e-learning and/or the relevant material.
Do your best to learn the function syntaxes and the workings of the pdv. 8/10/2009 7:09:06 PM |

Took it today. Didn't know my syntaxs as well as I'd like and knew the pdv very well; however, there were hardly any questions about it. I passed so no worries. 8/10/2009 11:51:16 PM |

well that was a quick thread, haha.
the base sas cert is (as you saw) really not too difficult, imo. 8/11/2009 7:41:09 AM |

Yeah. The Advanced is pretty hard though. 8/11/2009 6:12:12 PM |

I believe that. We had the Sas Programming 1 Class and Sas Programming 2 class instructors come in and teach us. The problem was they made the base exam sound different then it was going to be. So I really didn't know the syntax as well as I would of liked, but I still got it. So no worries.
I was talking to my adviser and she said it's nice to have the Advance Certification; however, companies who hire us are not any more likely to do so or pay us more. I'll still probably go for since the school will pay for it. 8/12/2009 8:09:19 AM |
