How is it dumb shit? 3D combined with higher picture quality means a more real movie experience than has ever been possible. The level of detail is getting to be amazing in these movies. If it's stupid, you can sit home while everyone else is out having a good time.

its not the same that was around 50 years ago, the glasses now are polarized, so they just make the color a little duller instead of making one eye see the opposite color from the other eye, also the image filtering using polarization is more complete than with opposite color filtering.

I just saw the first 12 min of HP in 3D at IMAX. I was impressed.

I didn't think it would be very good. I thought it would be cartoonish or CGIish, but it was very easy to watch. As a matter of fact, when it was time to take off the glasses it was a let-down to see the regular film.

I think 3D could be workable nowdays. Even for regular movies.

Do you have a bad eye son?

Or like a normal eye and an extra good eye son?

Yeah, when I was a kid it was the red and blue glasses that didn't do anything at all. Seeing that 3-D Michael Jackson movie at Epcot really was a novelty because it actually did create 3-D effects, as opposed to everything else at the time. I guess the true 3-D movies were too costly to produce back then? as most of them were of the i-don't-see-it red and blue variety.
