There are parts in that trailer that make you question the production quality of an entire game if they cant get things right for a trailer.

Reviews are in the 7.5-9 range. Seems the framerate dips a bit on the 360 version and the fixed camera can be frustrating. And puzzles are irritating too.

most reviews i read were 9+. very story driven, definitely guided by kojima. if you didnt like the story grounding of mgs, you probly wont like the pacing of this

According to Gamespot there are ton of cinemas at the beginning and end, but not much in-between.

I'm about 90% done and I've found it really enjoyable. The biggest issue is the fixed camera can really fuck you up, especially when it comes to jumping. Otherwise, it's been a blast.

I'm pissed that you have to buy skills and you get 3/4 of the way through the game before you can even double jump.

Fuck the music box.

I'm just at the last level and was going back through levels to try and get to weapon upgrades I hadn't been able to reach before, hardly seems worth it.

What I find intriguing about the upcoming LOS 2 installment is that Gabriel isnt so much concerned with the thought of satan coming back as he is with trying to find a way to undo his immortality. In Mirrors of Fate, he pretty much already told Trevor and Simon that he just as well erase his whole lienage than deal with his past. This coming after the fact that the little fate wisp guy of Mirrors of Fate stupidly lead Trevor to be transformed into Alucard by his own unbeknownst father.
Whats better with the whole Alucard\Trevor thing, is that, as he is dying Trevor forgives Gabriel because he saw in the mirror of fate that Gabriel is essentially an innocent person (a cruel anti-hero so to speak). With the end cut scene where you see him dig up that broken wooden stake you get the sense that hes not just out to track down and kill Dracula, but to ultimately help his father in the end reach peace.
The latest e3 trailer also shows angelic creatures coming to confront Gabriel. The golden winged creature shown is similar to pans true form. That character that fought and died against Gabriel so that one could enter the land of the dead and the finish the last shadow lord in the first game. It also leaves one to wonder what story elements the angelic creatures will present to Gabriel if any.
Thow back in the titans from shadows of the collasus and this game sets the stage for some of the most epic battles ever for Castlevania. A series that has over 30+ titles dating back to 1986.

My aging computer will definitely like the fact that this is based on previous generation hardware. I haven't played the demo but it meets the recommended settings for it. Hopefully it will run better than LoS 1 did on the PS3.
