Looks like 850 will be no more (as sports talk anyway)...Glenn moves to 99.9. Ovies and Gold will move to 620.

I'll be happy as long as they keep Primetime with the Packman in the afternoons....Hopefully they'll get rid of that no talent ass clown Cowherd too.

I'd like to see em put primetime on after Glenn on 99.9...Its the only sports station I can get at work and that would be a great afternoon line up.

^^Primetime brings the funny.

no, we had 3, but will soon lose one since 850 is going to music...which sucks because i can't pull in 620's crappy ass signal

Boooh, more of the evil empire taking over.

I cant believe anyone would think it was a good idea to change an AM stations format to music. Between FM and satellite radio, why would you listen to music on AM?

Oh, and yeah...Capitol laid people off at the end of June, and now they are buying radio stations. Way to go.

primetime with the packman is the best thing on sports radio in these parts.

Anyone who disagrees is automatically wrong.

I hate Adam Gold. They need to do him like Lennie from "Of Mice and Men," take him the back of the shed and put a bullet in the back of his head

He grew up a NC State fan, but ended up going to Clemson. I am so glad they are keeping him on 620 the bull, but at work I don't even get that. I listen on my phone everyday. I am really surprised they kept him because he kicks the other stations butts in ratings, but maybe thats why they will keep him because he will kill it for advertisers. http://www.southernfriedfootball.com

Actually Packer admits that he grew up a State fan so I think that's where his soft spot for us comes in.

I will always hold a grudge against Bomani Jones for the 2006 Hurricanes fiasco, so if he is out the door I'll have a smile on my face.

Seriously?...seriously?

Ill have to get satellite radio then in a few months to get sports talk I guess...this is a slimy move IMO, and with the exception of State games where i have no other choice, I refuse to listen to any of their stations.

He wrote this article and received a massive backlash from it: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=jones/060526

If you dig around Google there are a lot of responses to it and then his responses. I don't really want to rehash all that too much since it was 3 years ago and I assume even Bomani has moved on given that I heard him hosting Storm Front one night. All I will say is that I don't understand bashing the hell out of your local team like that. If he doesn't like the sport, fine, but that article was a slap in the face to the area and all fans of the team.

Has anyone else noticed 99.9's signal getting weaker? I used to be able to pick it up clear no matter where I was. Now I can't get it inside at all, and it has intermittent static in my car.

This is a terrible move! It was just three years ago when weak signaled 1470/1070 flipped over from ESPN to music. If I wanted to listen to music on AM radio, I'd flip it over to those two stations. Ugh!

Quote :

Yeah, pretty much. Given the terrible shape FSR's parent company is in (not to mention the changing of hosts), it will soon be ESPN and Sporting News Radio and nothing else.

this has nothing to do with FSR, it was simply a matter of capital broadcast realizing that they had the inferior product so they bought the competition. Same reason 99 outbid 850/620 for espn radio several months back. 99 is unhappy with the product they put on the air and i would be shocked if any of their current hosts last past the end of thier current contracts.
