pinhook is pretty chill and often has decent shows. but again. i don't know what you're looking for. federal has good beer selection and food.

There a tons of nice bars in teh Tobacco Warehouse district they are insanely nice and 9th street has some great ones to that are 3 doors down from Elmos..If i remember correctly there are about 4 cool ones there with good food, if you can put up with the yuppy NCCU and Duke grad students, other than that the atmosphere is nice.
