I just looked at my desk and realized I have a collection of really strange things here at the office.

A Shrek-shaped view finder that came free in a pack of batteries.
A Buddha wooden statue my coworker brought me from India.
A rubber bendy Dilbert doll.
A weird wooden statue I got from a kid on the street in Cancun for $3 and it looks like he's holding his penis.
A snow globe from the NC Aquariums.

1. A RadioShack temperature monitor that tracks the temperature inside our huge server room. I'm supposed to check it and make sure that the temperature doesn't go above 80 degrees, which it never has. It's not really weird actually, just unique.

my desk at work is a gold bench, so i can't really clutter it up for fear of losing scrap. but on the top shelf i have an assortment of huge fake round brilliant cut gemstones, a bottle of hand lotion, an owl cut out of agate, a sphere made of cherry quartz...

on the shelves beside my desk are pretty rocks that we didn't want to put in buckets for the tourists. a big chunk of aquamarine, beautiful striped fluorite, an amethyst cluster with dog tooth calcite on it, an awesome piece of dolomite, a very unique emerald crystal, and a green amethyst cluster

^it's SO much fun! hiding them is the best part. I had the chicken in my coffee mug once, in the ficus in my office, and once in a OLD file that i don't open often (i have no idea how long it was there). and the cow had a pen stuck up his butt

i just put the cow in someone's office, but i still don't know if she's seen it. i put him sitting on the ledge of an award she has on her wall

I have this Jeep CJ toy that I'm pretty sure used to be CarZin's when he was a kid. Long story short, we knew each other as kids because our parents both had places in the same neighborhood at Lake Gaston. One day about six or seven years ago I took my trash to the dumpster and there were all these ancient toys from the sand box in there. I grabbed that Jeep and took it home. It weighed about 5 lbs because it was full of sand and it had been totally trashed. I pulled the body, sanded it, and painted it. I scrubbed the hell out of the frame, tires, etc. and it came back looking fine. Now it sits on my desk at work.

someone took my envelope moistener with adhesive, drew a face on it, attached a pen to it with a rubberband, and gave it hands with post it notes... Posting it tonight, unless I can send the pic to someone to upload for me. Not that impressive as a statue holding his penis though
