Tell me about it. Ever work for a company who uses it? Do you use it as a customer? Any info would be appreciated.

Are they still in business? I thought they were on the outs when I lived in Gorman Crossings...like 5 years ago.

I only used it back in 2004 when I was 1) too lazy to go anywhere, and 2) didn't want the typical chinese/pizza delivery. It was too expensive a delivery fee (back then like $4-5) and it took too long to get to my house. Plus, a tip for the driver was expected on top of that.

you'd be better off just hiring 1 or two ruckus delivery guys imo

^well, the issue w/ actually doing in-house delivery is that the insurance is through the damned roof. it's awful.

OK you're trying to find a place that will delivery your pizza for you? well, i dunno how expensive it is for you guys to hire RTO to do your delivery, but i know you (Ruckus) have a huge following and would likely get the business through RTO. but the question is, would the Ruckus pizza fans pay the higher delivery fees in order to get Ruckus, or just cave in and go with the Papa?

I used to use it, but I only use it for places like the big easy or some other place that i just don't feel like sitting down in to get my food

I couldn't imagine using it for a place like quiznos (or to be honest, ruckus, where even if I didn't feel like sticking around, I could call in an order and come pick it up)

well, the idea at first was to just deliver to campus, because, let's face it, kids on campus don't really hear about Ruckus until they're off campus. hell, i didn't know about Ruckus until I applied for a job here in 2003, and it's right in the backyard practically. sure, we're more expensive than PJs, Gumby's, but hell, people gotta want good pizza from time to time. and, we'll have mad coupons available to people on campus, too. id like to be able to just deliver using employees i already have, but if something were to happen (if we hit a cyclist, etc), we'd basically lose our shit. also, a lot of kids on campus dont have cars, or are too lazy to really venture out, even to Mission Valley. just tryin to really touch that market because we've kinda avoided it in the past.

^^yeah it's not aimed at ppl who already eat here a lot. a lot of folks do actually like eating in here.

have you looked at delivery using a moped or vespa or whatever the hell they call em nowadays?

and keep campus security happy so they'll look out for the drivers.

haha man we have 24" pizzas.

ya know, i went to wood hall and gave the RD 800 discount cards to give to tenants and never saw one come back.

and yes, college kids want cheap pizza

but there are also college kids with daddy's credit card, and good taste.

maybe try only delivering not 24" pizzas then. you have all the reasons in the world to not deliver to campus it seems.
if you really wanted your pizza on campus it cant be that hard

ha, it's quite easy, in theory.

but the risk is too large to deliver it w/out insurance. seriously, one mishap and ruckus pizza is no more. i mean, i deliver to campus departments for meetings, etc, practically every week, but that's in broad daylight, and it's not every day. the risk is considerably lower.

^^also, the 24" is part of the draw for college kids. i remember not particularly liking Gumby's in college, but getting the 23" because it was 23".

I used it A LOT when I broke my foot. The food was usually cold and on 3 occasions my order was completely forgotten. ordering drinks is a gamble, they usually get forgotten.

for the premium you pay the service is shit

I worked as a driver for RTO for like 2 weeks. People complain about the delivery fee being small, but that and the tip are basically all you get paid, no hourly wage.

I did the math for my 2 weeks adding up all the money I took in, subtracted mileage and gas for my car (which we also didn't get paid) and my net wage was around $2-3 an hour. Oh, and that was without taxes taken out. Not worth my time.

Two things:

1) What exactly is your relationship with Ruckus? Like owner, a manager, etc? I've never been clear on it.

2) Depending on the answer to question 1, please make (or suggest) the Cary branch go back to putting coupons on the back of Harris Teeter receipts. I've just about run through my stockpile

^^I'm GM of the Raleigh store.

I'll mention it to em, but they seemed to think it didn't work (?). I've got coupons on the backs of Western Blvd Food Lion receipt tape.
