I want to know if anyone has shared a bathroom with another person before and how have your exp. been?I have never shared a bathroom with anyone and I know the time I take and how picky I am about other people's messes. But I am considering this because rent in SD is a lot higher and if I want my own bathroom its like 100-200 more a month...so just trying to get opinions. Thanks in advance.

eh, I have a brother, so from age 0-16, I shared a bathroombut in terms of people I wasn't related to, everyone has kept the bathroom fairly clean, so it wasn't an issue. The ONLY thing that sucked was sharing a bathroom with this girl.....she had a habit of leaving her bloody stinking tampons in the trashcan

It's not really bad.Unless you are living with some pretty miserable people, no one is going to be putting any bodily fluids anywhere that bodily fluids should not go. And if they do, they're probably going to be adults about it and clean that shit up themselves. Probably thoroughly, if you ask them to. Then again, it's much better to actually know the person you're rooming with beforehand. Also,

Just keep your stuff clean and hope the other person keeps their stuff clean. Promise each other you'll clean up after your self so you don't go into a gross bathroom full of their mess.

This will help you when you live w/ your significant other. Then again, I still got yelled at for leaving hair in the sink (shaving), getting toothpaste on the counter, not closing the shower curtain, leaving the seat up, putting the tp on backwards......then again, these arguments weren't really about the bathroom--me thinks.

I'm sure the biggest issue you will face is hair in the shower from shedding. That is just asking your roommate to make sure they clean up after themself. No one likes cleaning other people's hair out of the drain.I spent all summer sharing a bathroom with at least 5 other girls. The best way to share a bathroom peacefully is just to put yourself in the other persons shoes. Or think, would I want my roommate to spend 30 mins in the shower when she knows I need to get in there?

sawahash made me think of somethingone of my roomates and me use to take showers at relatively the same time one semester. that was kinda sucky sometimes if you were the second one cause you didnt have as much hot water and had to wait[Edited on August 16, 2009 at 10:11 PM. Reason : so find out when she'll need it...oh and it sucks to take a shower after someone takes a dump]
